Girls in ICT Day is a day dedicated to drawing attention to the critical need for more girls and women in the ICT sector. The 2022 celebrations will take place on 28th April 2022 under the theme “Access and Safety”. This theme aims to highlight some of the challenges faced by girls and young women as they begin their journey in the digital environment and provides solutions and ideas for lowering barriers and improving safety. The goal for this year’s celebration is to: 

• Encourage girls and young women to pursue STEM education

• Inspire girls and young women to work in STEM careers 

• Engage the community and promote collaboration through partnerships

To celebrate the 2022 International Girls in ICT Day, ATU will jointly host a webinar with Child Online Africa (COA) under the theme: Empowering Africa Girls for Active Involvement in the Digital Transformation.
